Who is Jesus to You?

Who is Jesus to You?

Who is JESUS to you? Who is this baby who was born in a manger more than 2,000 years ago that His believers all over the world from different walks of life celebrate even to this day?

Some say He was a mere human, just a son of a carpenter, not highly educated, of a lowly descent and had no home. Some called Him teacher or rabbi, a prophet or healer. Others who were jealous and hated on Him called Him a blasphemer or mockingly called him the King of Jews. People had different views about Him then and sadly so even now.

I went through a lot this year and I recently shared just a tidbit about it on my new video on YouTube. But with all the hardships that I went through, it led me to seeing JESUS in ways that brought me deeper into my relationship and faith in Him. It sounds easier than done but I have to point out that I went through a lot of refining moment to get to arrive at this perspective.. These are my Christmas reflections turned blog posts. I hope and pray that you will resonate with them:

JESUS IS TRULY GOOD. If there’s anything or anyone that did nothing for us but good, that’s Him. We may not always see it because sadly He gets all the blame even for the troubles that we’ve created for ourselves. But truth is, from the very beginning, God has always wanted nothing but the best for us. There is so much to be thankful about Him my hands cannot count. And that is to say when this year had been really tough for me in ways I never saw coming. But nonetheless, He remains good. He is always good and it’s more than just resounding God is good as a song that makes me say these things. He’s shown me that He is good regardless of my circumstances, that He will always do what’s best for me even if I don’t see it the same way.

JESUS IS MY BESTEST FRIEND. No one cares for us and loves us the way He does. His love does not tolerate nor rejoice in the wrong. It desires not just what is good but the HIGHEST GOOD for us. He is perfect in the way He plans and does things there’s no need for us to doubt. Sometimes we act like we know better, but no one else knows better than GOD. His love for us transcends the highest capability of any human to love. That great love brought us Christ, in a lowly manger. He went THAT LOW for you and me, so that He can be our bestest friend who can relate and sympathize with us on all our highs and lows. He alone loves on us on a level we never even deserve.

JESUS IS THE GREAT PROVIDER. He meets our daily needs and He takes care of even the things that we didn’t know we need. He provides strength and endurance for every situation we face. He provides us solutions to our problems and gives us joy and peace in spite of all the not so good things that this life brings. He showers us with blessings and surprises us from time to time with His undeserved generosity. He blesses us with family and friends that we can count on. He’s given us these things and more. God’s greatest provision to mankind is Jesus Christ Himself. The very gift that our souls need to be rescued from eternal damnation. His love is the greatest provision one could ever receive in this life. He’s given Himself for your sake, who are we not to receive this kind of love?

JESUS IS COMPASSIONATE, FORGIVING AND KIND. Think about how far we’ve gone in life and yet He runs after us as The Good Shepherd who ran after that one sheep that went astray and would willingly die in its place. He desires for us to be rescued, to be redeemed and to walk in the kind of life that He’s purposed for us from the very beginning. Oftentimes we don’t see that His plans for us are perfect until we get to the other side. But if we remind ourselves that He is trustworthy in all of His promises, we can be at peace that when He calls and drives us to Himself, it’s nothing but for OUR best. And who would be so passionate to run after someone who purposefully ran away from His perfect love other than Jesus?

And lastly, JESUS IS THE ONLY TRUE SAVIOR. Though the meaning of Christmas have been twisted into versions people have created for themselves (much like how people created their own versions of who JESUS really is), the the truth remains and it will always be unchanged as told in Scriptures:

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David

a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

JESUS CHRIST is the ONLY SAVIOR of the world. He is our ONE TRUE HOPE. He’s the rescuer of our souls. I’m so grateful that He saved me and many countless other people who have been changed forever. I’ve experienced His transforming love and it’s unlike any other. I’ve seen it happen for countless people with my own eyes and I’m greatly encouraged that He will continue to save more souls. GOD through JESUS has given meaning to my existence. My life is far from perfect. I am still a work in progress but meeting Him the most hurtful ways had led me to becoming more whole. Quite ironic, right? Even I never knew anything like this could be made possible in a life full of brokenness, discontent and restlessness.

As we celebrate Christmastime together, it is my prayer that all the circumstances we’ve been through will only deepen our faith and relationship with Him. And may closed hearts be opened to receive His love and salvation and enjoy Him not only in this life now but until forever. No matter how broken we are and no matter how hard life may be for a lot of us, may our joy in Him be full knowing that HE is the reason for this season. In Christ, we have everything. Merry Christmas, everyone!
